Jesus, make me more like the owner of this shop:

Crylaughing

Saturday, December 19th, 2009
In the midst of darkness and struggle, the Lord is right beside me. That I learned yesterday.

I was out on a short drive. As I usually do I had worship on my stereo. I had been doing the exactly same thing earlier on the day. But this time it was different.

The Holy Spirit completely filled the car. And I was filled with compassion and joy.

I began crylaughing. Now that’s not a word, but it is now for me. Because the compassion made tears pop out of my eyes. And the joy made me smile and laugh.

Now sometimes you say that you’re so happy you begin to cry. This was different though. It was two different moods/states at once. I’ve often have had them separately, but never together at once before.

It continued until I came home. Then I laid down on my bed with some more worship. And the presence continued to touch me deeply.

Thank you Holy Spirit and Jesus! Pals for life!

Let love be your ignition and fuel

In the new pact, God made it possible for ordinary people get to know Him. However He made it impossible to know Him without compassion and love.

Knowing our Father is all about heart to heart relationship. The driving force for man to connect to God is no longer through deeds and laws. It’s through compassion and adoration for Him.

My heart beats a little harder when I write this. Because I have fallen in love. I’ve fallen in love with the One who so desperately longs for my companion: My God.

Doors of Heaven

And this is how we grasp God, after we pass the first obstacle of believing in him. Faith opens up the doors of Heaven for us. Then we need to step in by loving on Him. We find Him through this love.

Righteousness are still there. However through blood of Jesus I stand clean. Faith enclose me. It makes the Father’s anger against my sin vanish.

Now I dare to approach the throne. And left is nothing but Him, me and the love between us.

Those that seek the Father through the dead letter without understanding the foundation of love, will never get it. It’s about heart beats first. Then the deeds comes from that passion.

After all it all began with love. For so loved God the world, that He gave His only Son… Love was His ignition for taking action towards the world that had rejected Him.

I love you, my Father!

The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
Psalm 103:8
Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.”
Matthew 1:41
If you had known what these words mean, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.
Matthew 12:7

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Colossians 3:12

Compassion

We owe it to eachother to show compassion. We’re all sinners and in our own power fallen short of the glory of God.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
Romans 3:23

It’s so easy to fall for self rightousness. In fact it is deep in the nature of man to blow up the mistakes of others, and fail to see our own faults. Jesus warns us against it:

And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?
Matthew 7:3

God’s advocates

Sometimes it seems like Christians are too busy being God’s advocates of rightousness to remember compassion. God will handle judgement Himself. Our burden is to love eachother, not in every situation being morale guardians.

God has set a time of mercy. During this time people only suffer the natural fruit of their sins. Judgement comes later. God have given man free will and free playing ground. Our tool against sin during this time should first and foremost be compassion and love.

We’ve all missed the target. We’re all sinners. So show some mercy.
