I’ve just read a story from governmental sector, that is pretty unique.
A woman was working as a cultural consultant. However for a few months she had to take over the job of her boss, the head of culture issues.
During this time she had to cut down on operating costs. In her suggestion to the political organs, she had cut out her own position as cultural consultant. As a result she would be out of a job when her boss returns. That’s a pretty bold suggestion to make.
The administrative manager wasn’t pleased with the suggestion, stating that her position was valuable. So we’ll see if she’ll keep her job or not.
An act of integrity or lack of self esteem? What would you have done?
The story is available in Norwegian only here.
